Mid-to-late forties in bearing; solid, broad-shouldered, seasoned warrior build. Thick, wavy salt-and-pepper gray hair, medium length, somewhat tousled; full, neatly trimmed gray beard and mustache. Strong, angular features; prominent brow; intense dark eyes; direct, stern, authoritative gaze. Fair skin with weathering consistent with outdoor military life.

Typical dress: Riveted chainmail hauberk over a padded gray gambeson; heavy dark navy-to-black cloak at the left shoulder, fastened with a large round metal clasp. Wide leather belt with silver buckle; sword at the left hip in a dark leather scabbard with metal fittings (functional field gear, not ceremonial).

Background

Sergeant Michael, 1st Regiment of the Nystrian Army — twenty years' service; retired on schedule (Day 61–63). Not a perfumed noble or ostentatious Knight; enlisted career soldier. Crown grants land title only to senior officers who retire, not to enlisted men or junior officers — relevant when Sierra offers pledged farmland (Day 68+).

Lisette beds him at the Soaring Falcon (Day 61) and recommends him as Captain of the Newtown Guard when Milos becomes Sheriff. Count Matthias confirms the appointment (Day 63); Gregor named Deputy Sheriff; Michael recruits a replacement for his own former guard slot.

Traditional, duty-minded, and plain-spoken. Serious and no-nonsense in command. Non-exclusive with Lisette while courting Sierra; values formal courtship (asks Bron's blessing, traditional proposal). Concerned about fatherhood but commits fully to marriage. Early riser; dispatches guard details (wolves, messengers) without fuss.
